I started with I think its entirely dependent on what you spend directly on the Steam Store in the past.
Which is a quiet a lot in my case. Originally posted by Ogami :. Originally posted by Xaelath :. From developers and publishers that you know Browse all.

At least, this is how it's been working for me, and from what I've gathered, this is how it should work. But it seems like there might be people for whom the cap doesn't work and they CAN boost essentially infinitely.
Either that, or they're big spenders with a really high cap they haven't reached yet, and they don't know it's there. Though it wouldn't surprise me if the cap is bugged and plain doesn't work for some.
I've had the idea explained to me a couple times and it's still confusing as hell. When you boost it uses up to of your points at a time.
These points are consumed by the boost but now turn into coins that you can use to purchase rewards.
Go to the Pit Stop one which is listed right under the boost button to redeem coins. Note the discount option is kind of broke.
I used 30k points to get a 10 dollar discount and then that discount got deleted and my coins were gone but to use the discount option you need to have 15k coins unspent and when purchasing a game an option to use those coins will appear now.
This was not the case the first 3 days and is why I lost my discounts. There is also an exploit that involves the Grand Prix badge but it is supposedly being patched soon as noted in the steam announcements.
Main has stayed the same for almost 2 days now. Expect one thing has changed. My 'max points' was decreased by since yesterday so now I have 14, out of 13, But I can still only claim points from my achievements every day and as the day goes on I can only claim Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing right now.
All that is said in many more words on the Grand Prix page , but here's the simple version, as I understand it: "Points" add directly to your team's distance traveled when spent in a "Boost," while "Nitro Boost Points" add to your team's speed, which earns it distance over time.
For every dollar you spend, your Boost Meter will be able to hold more points. For every quest you complete, you'll earn 10 to points, as well as some amount of Nitro.
Points you earn beyond your Boost Meter's capacity are wasted. The confusion hasn't been helped by the page's sluggish updating.

Closing the loophole is a good idea, but it's still only applicable if people are buying games to increase their spend. Originally posted by Beezzi :.
All it does is fill up your points to the max. You can do that in a tenth of a second by cashing in achievements.
